Ayla Woss: The Art of Movement and Nude Painting – exclusively at the Les Koronin Art Gallery
From her home in Bavaria, Ayla Woss shapes and moulds clay to tell the story of her life through dance. For Ayla, dance is more than just a posture or a sequence of techniques: it is a language of the body and the senses. In this way, the clay figures she creates are subsequently transformed into magnificent bronze sculptures.
Although each of them often bears the same face – namely that of the artist herself – our sculptor works exclusively from live models when shaping their forms.
Ayla Woss’s works are exhibited exclusively at the Les Koronin art gallery.
Nude model?
Drawing from a nude model requires careful observation and a high level of artistic skill: drawing, modelling and an understanding of anatomy are essential to grasping how the body functions. This attentive observation therefore makes it possible to convey movement. One of the cornerstones of Ayla’s work is to breathe the idea of living movement into a physically static bronze sculpture, the beginning and progression of which the viewer can imagine.

Artistic freedom and technical mastery: from sculpture to a copy after Fragonard
The Galerie Les Koronin is honoured to present artists with unique artistic approaches who are often marginalised by other institutions due to their subject matter – be it female nudes or themes relating to the intellectual emancipation of women, which all too often encounter ideological obscurantism.
In this spirit of high standards and freedom, we shall keep you informed of the progress of the official commission awarded to Isabelle Morin: a copy of a masterpiece by Fragonard. The work in question is the painting ‘Le Verrou’ (c. 1774–1778), Paris, Musée du Louvre.
Art reproduction in the castle
Isabelle is creating this copy as part of our art lessons at Bois la Croix Castle.
Having applied the main colours to the background, working her way gradually from the background to the foreground, Isabelle is currently working on the texture and the flowing movement of the drapery, particularly on the female figure’s dress. Finally, today she is putting the finishing touches to the details by refining the nuances and contrasts of light.
