As always, the online gallery invites you to visit different museums, different exposures in France or Switzerland. Each of these excursions fulfills the purpose and the desire to take the majority of them with them around this cultural event. We offer you our professional expertise to talk about different topics, abstract art, sculpture… Take your chance! In the end, the online gallery does not get any money for its participants. Entrance to the museum, transport and overnight stays (if necessary) are each subject to a separate fee and must be clarified with the relevant organizations.

The world is sinking into hate again, wars are on the rise again, and racism and anti-Semitism are on the rise. It therefore seems important to me to tell you about this exhibition in Schwyz.

During World War II, Anne Frank writes about everyday life in hiding in the Secret Annex and about her feelings and thoughts. Why is her diary read all over the world today? What connection did she have to Switzerland?

Anne Frank’s diary shook up the world after the Holocaust. The chronicle of 735 days of everyday life, fear and hunger for eight Jews in Amsterdam hiding from the National Socialists is now world famous. However, little is known about what connects the Frank family and the distribution of the diary with Switzerland.
Edith, Margot, Anne Frank and four other people in hiding did not survive the concentration camps. Only Otto Frank survived and returned from Auschwitz in 1945. As a stateless person, he finally settled in Switzerland.
From here he made the legacy of his daughter Anne known to the whole world. Her diaries are a plea for more humanity and tolerance and have become part of world literature. The history of the Frank family is representative of the fate of countless Jewish families during the Second World War: emigration, flight, deportation, murder.
The memory of the Holocaust became increasingly important in the mid-1990s. The exhibition links the flight of Anne Frank’s family to Amsterdam with that of her relatives in exile in Basel. The stories of the two branches of the family, developed in parallel, at the time of the Second World War sharpen the view of the specific threats to Jews in two small European states. The exhibition presents the diary of Anne Frank in facsimile and builds on her stories.

She conveys the conditions under which the texts came about and looks at their history of impact. With the help of objects, photos and documents, the exhibition provides insights into the life of the family. Thanks to a cooperation with the Anne Frank Fund Basel and the Family Frank Center Frankfurt, which brings together the family archives, the exhibition unfolds an authentic narrative and opens up a view of everyday history, including refugee policy and refugee aid in Switzerland during the Second World War.
