Zecca Simona

There are artists who don’t just paint, but truly feel the world they portray.
Simona Zecca is one of them – a sensitive soul who tells a story of the heart with every brushstroke.
Her world is a blend of dream and reality, where colors themselves seem to speak.

“Art has an incredible power to stir emotions, and love lies at the heart of it all.
In my dreams, colours dance and whisper stories that long to be immortalised on canvas.

At first, I wanted to become a hyperrealist painter — always seeking perfection and beauty. Yet doubt often crept into my brush, leaving behind traces of frustration.
But from those struggles, my true vocation as an artist was born.

Painting is not about being perfect; it is about expressing oneself and telling silent stories. Each brushstroke has become a declaration of love, a reflection of my evolution.

In my art, I have found both joy and my inner voice. No longer seeking approval, I now paint out of pure love for painting itself.
Each brushstroke is an opportunity to share the journey of my soul on the canvas.

Perseverance has led to triumph, and today, painting has become my haven of peace.”

Contemporary Italian artist Simona Zecca explores the delicate relationship between the gaze, the image, and identity.
Her highly realistic works invite reflection on the representation of femininity and the thin line between what is shown and what is felt.
Balancing quiet irony with painterly precision, her art speaks of our age — one where appearance has become a language, and every face seeks its truth behind the image.

Picture me pretty

In this captivating work, Simona Zecca examines the border between appearance and representation.
A hand holds a magazine cover over a woman’s face — a simple gesture, yet a profound one. The artist questions the construction of beauty and the tension between the real and the ideal.

The golden background, reminiscent of ancient icons, lends a sacred aura to a distinctly modern scene — that of the gaze shaped by media imagery.
Her hyperrealist technique, from hair to fabric, transcends realism to become a meditation on the image itself.

The title Picture me pretty carries a soft irony, mixing allure and vulnerability.
This painting becomes a reflection on the power of images, on the desire to exist through them, and on the quiet fatigue of being seen.
